I have already built a sled. Used it many times and finally found a price point for a real metal one for my shop. Dust extraction to this will be accomplished wit h the addition of hoses and fittings to improve user experience. Take a look at the quality of the product seen in images provided. Amazing! I purchased the blank router plate but it appears that I was sent a universal plate along with a blank!

​I used this router sled to flatten an 8-foot-long walnut and epoxy slab. Overall, I am really happy with the sled's performance at this price point, especially considering its generous size. It gets the job done well, though there are a few quirks worth noting. ​The assembly itself was straightforward. While the instructions could definitely have been better written, it isn't anything you can't figure out on your own. The default clearance height was decent, but for my specific setup, I ended up needing a router bit extender and a router base lifter. To be fair, that was more a requirement of my specific router than a fault of the sled itself. ​One major thing to note is dust management. Sawdust tends to collect right around the wheels and inside the sliding channels, which can impact how smoothly it rolls. To solve this, I rigged up some scrap cardboard guards to shield the wheels, which did the trick perfectly. As long as the wheels are kept clean, the sled rolls incredibly freely and smoothly. For the channels, you will just need to blow out the dust frequently to keep the tracking clear. A built-in vacuum port, or even just an option to mount one to the provided base, would have been a massive improvement. ​The only minor component I had trouble with was the included end stops, as I couldn't get them to secure tightly to the channels. After trying to figure out the design and checking a few videos online, I ultimately replaced them with a 3D-printed version I made with a few adjustments, which worked perfectly instead. ​If you are willing to make a few minor adjustments and manage the dust as you go, this sled offers incredible value. For flattening massive slabs on a budget, it is tough to beat.
