Open all the packing on a soft surface. Set out the high-top table top, legs, four chair frames, seat pads, cushion covers, and all bolts/screws/washers. Cross-check with the instructions to ensure that nothing is missing.
Leave enough moving space so that you do not bump into things while positioning chairs and the table. Lay the table top face down on something soft (a towel or blanket). Align the legs/pedestal. Loosely join the bolts and washers first to ensure alignment. Once all the legs are on, tighten the bolts evenly in a cross pattern.
Attach the seat and back panelling to the chair frame. If there are armrests, then attach those next. Use washers where indicated. Hand-tighten, and then secure with an Allen key or wrench, taking care not to over-tighten.
Insert the cushion bottoms, fastening the ties or Velcro straps if specified. Back cushions should fit tightly. Zip or button the covers firmly. Check the assembled set for any hobbling. Adjust the feet or install leg pads in case they are adjustable. Ensure that the table is centered, chairs slide in neatly, and nothing rocks.
Cap the exposed bolts with plastic or metal caps. Apply floor protectors on the chair and table legs to avoid marking the surfaces. Look over every bolt and joint—tighten where required. Sit on each chair and put things on the table. Check for stability and comfort.
