Retired machinist.
Any magnetic drill desperately needs a variable speed drill feature. You need the ability to vary your cutting speed when drilling different ferrous metals. Burning out one of these rotary cutters is an expensive exercise, and locating somebody to sharpen the damaged cutter is almost impossible and costly.

Had issues right away
Mag drill came fast. I had issues with it slowing down and then running wide open. Contacted customer service and wanted to return it. They were adimate I needed to video the issue. I attempted to get it on video and the drill stopped doing anything but magnet still worked. I wasn't happy again I just wanted it gone. I sent video of it not working to customer service and they eventually sent Me a video on how to fix issue which was melted wire clamps inside of the housing. I removed the weak clips and just tied wires together and put black tape on connections and it's been working good now.
I'm happy with features but really don't feel I should have to fix the poor design. I've purchased many products from vevor and been happy with everything but this mag drill. I think I should have gotten a credit or something for my troubles.

No locking mechanism. the Jacob's chuck makes the bit way too long to be useful, and is outside the throw of the drill. Does not come with a 3/8th bit

It's a good drill press but the best way to put it is the price does reflect what do you get.
For a heavy DIY guy this will work. Even for a commercial use but it is a bit frustrating sometimes when the magnet pulls off when you're drilling and single hole or it starts to wallow around before it digs in.
I like it and I will use it and I do recommend it

The drill and magnetic base worķ good but the variable speed is terrible. You can not use for tapping as it speeds up as soon as the load changes.

Disappointing Quality Topped by Terrible Customer Support
This is my first AND LAST VEVOR product. I purchased the 1550W Mag Drill for a friend of mine who operates a machine and welding shop. He was working on a project for me and it required a mag drill which he did not have. I suggested purchasing a mag drill for him in exchange for his services and he happily agreed. The purchase experience was fine and the drill arrived on schedule and in good condition. It was well packaged. However, that was the only good part of this entire, horrible experience. When we attempted to use the drill to our dismay NONE OF THE ELEVEN boring bits supplied with the drill would fit into the drill chuck. The shank on every one of the eleven bits was too large and would not fit into the drill chuck at all. We purchased good quality boring bits from a local machine shop and they fitted the drill chuck precisely. Now for the really horrible part of the experience. I contacted VEVOR customer support and requested a return authorization for the boring bits and a replacement set. They refused to accommodate my request and instead gave me the royal run around saying their tech support people needed video and photos of the "problem". After fighting with them for several weeks repeatedly asking for a replacement set of boring bits they still refused to send me a replacement and instead offered my a (get this) $32.00 payment. The drill itself worked fine which is the only reason I rated it a 3 overall. The boring bits supplied with the drill were obviously poor quality, cheap bits and totally worthless. Like I said at the beginning of this review. This is my first and last VEVOR product purchase.
