DJ Stick Second best purchase I have made for my fishing boat!

My wife loves to fish with me and we have a special needs son. So, usually, if she comes we have to bring him along also. The Alabama summers can be brutal though. So, I threw on this bimini top, and it has been a game changer! Why I didn't do it sooner is beyond me. Assembly & Installation: Installation was fairly straightforward for anyone that is a little mechanically-inclined. However, the included instructions left a little to be desired, and would very likely present a challenge to someone that might struggle with assembling things that they are not completely familiar with. I'm very mechanically-inclined, and the installation took me just a little over an hour to do without any help at all. Durability: The canvas is decently thick and seems well-sewn. The aluminum support structure comes protected by plastic and seems well-made and is sturdy enough to hold a clamp-on battery powered fan as you can see in the picture. The stow cover that zippers around the top while stowed is not canvas itself. So, I don't see it withstanding the test of time. The one thing I didn't particularly care for are the knobs that bolt through the support when deployed/stowed. They are kept by nuts that sit in the plastic mount loosely. This means the nuts have to be supported by your fingers to keep from falling out and possibly into the water while deploying/stowing the top. A rivnut-style connection would have been much better here. It isn't a big enough inconvenience to hurt the rating though. Price: Considering how much we love this top, it was the second best investment we've made into the boat (the first was LiveScope). At $120 at the time of purchase, it was money well-spent!
