Very impressed by this. I had bought a similar item from a very well-known UK supplier of such equipment but their design would only work for a flat lower spring platform at right angles to the strut. By contrast this Vevor unit has an angled lower spring grip which works perfectly with the typical modern "banana" spring (officially "side-load"). Having originally struggled with old-fashioned spring compressor clamps to no avail, being able to use this device was a revelation - I had the spring removed in minutes, and replaced just as quickly. Perfect.

This tool is a must for the DIY or home mechanic, it help me change the springs on my McPherson struts for my Mercedes’ CLK which meant that I did not have to go to a garage and was able to save myself all that money that a garage charges per hour so I think it paid for it’s self on the first day I used if. It wasn’t an exact fit for these particular struts but it did the job perfectly after a bit of messing around to get the tool to work for me. But I must add this tool is not fir the faint hearted as it could be extremely dangerous if not used with care and attention.

The structure off the product I like, the cost was good, what I didn, t like was the adjust holes was to big for the bolts, I redrilled all adjust holes and got thicker bolts off the same diameter good tight fit now, the angle supports for bolting to floor to thin and to weak, I am going to change that as well to heavy duty 2/2 or 3/3 angle later on but good product overall well worth spending a bit off time and a few pounds on..

Used this Strut Spring compressor for the first time this weekend and I was impressed. It made the changing of the springs effortless and safe. The strut fits in the holder so so. The centre bolt that holds the spring is accessible, but the 2 other bolts on the strut, make it so you need to rotate the strut to try and fit one or all of them under the black horseshoe shaped piece. Even though the spring sat somewhat level in the holders and I secured the chain around the spring and tool in case of it slipping out. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone looking for a safe way to change springs on a strut.
