Whilst I have not used this product yet, other reviews I have read have advised to treat the inner insulating fabric prior to use. The information received with the product does not mention that treating the lining will enhance the life of the product. It would be nice to know if Vevor also recommend treating the lining with sodium silicate and fire cement?

I have tyet o use the furnace but I am sure it will be fit for purpose, once the insulation is sealed (see below),as I looked at all the reviews on YouTube before purchasing. My only gripe is, and I appreciate they are built to.a price, that it does not come with a spray to seal the ceramic insulation or a bag of appropriate size and heat rating to seal the insulation with fire cement. The insulation left unsealed is a health hazard and is also liable to damage during placement and removal of the crucible; Hence the reason I have to use it as finding a product of suitable rating and in a suitable size and not costing as much as the furnace did not prove easy, I am now awaiting delivery of fire cement to coat the insulation before use. Also the tongs supplied are not suitable for safely lifting the crucible and will either need adapting or replacing.

All all a fairly decent bit of kit. I mainly use it for copper alloys though Id say it'd be handy for aluminium and precious metals, even fheating steel for forge welding. What let's it down i think is the crucible, mine started to deteriorate after a few uses, I know they are wearing parts but I expected it to last longer. The tongs also grip it by the lip rather than wrapping round the cup so be wary of that once it starts to deteriorate as mine broke a bit off. I wouldnt want to fill it to the brim

i bought this to melt aluminium and brass for projects. and was more than very surprised at how easy it was to set up and use. and the melting time is very fast indeed, so no wasted gas waiting around for things to heat up. it more than served my needs, great little bench top forge 5* rating for this along with fast delivery

I have enjoyed using the furnace it is a great piece of kit. my only down point was that the tongs supplied are not practical to use when poring the moulten metal. also, the fire brick has cracked after 5 melts but I have been impressed with the furnace as a whole n

Brilliant furnace, good quality stainless steel, decent length gas hose, everything you need to get started, I recommend buying refraction cement or liquid & pouring tongs

Over all this furnace is pretty good. The prongs damage the crusible when you try to remove from the furnace. Buy a better one and avoid using the ones that come with the kid. Copper takes around 20 mins to melt.

Clear instructions for set up but definitely do your research before firing it up. Gloves are functional but you probably want something better.
