do i need to use some rigidizer on this and even if i don't would it be better if i did?
It is recommended that you purchase a high-temperature cotton curing agent to apply. Using a curing agent can reduce volatilization and extend the service life of the high-temperature cotton. You can purchase refractory cement or curing agent that can withstand temperatures greater than 2700℉. If you do not purchase a curing agent, it will not affect the function of the furnace. You can also feel more at ease wearing a mask when using it.

will this melt steel
If the melting point of the steel is lower than 1400℃, then it is possible. If it is higher than 1400℃, then it is more difficult.

In the downloadable manual it states that it comes with a bag of refractory cement but there is no mention of it in this description. Is it included as per manual or not. Thank you. Kev.
