We are planning to purchase an "old-style" water hand-pump & extension (long decorative "foot"). Can you advise on the following please. The pump will go on the surface cover of an old well and the water level in the well is some distance below ground-level. Can an extension pipe be added below the pump so as to reach and access the water? What kind of fitting & what kind of pipe (galvanised iron, plastic....?) needed to make the join to the pump body. How long can this exension be?)
