I am looking to install this on the inside portion of my garage for added security while on vacation. Can a person crawl through the bottom gap?
From top to bottom, the gate is very rigid. From side to side, the gate can bow a little since it's secured at 2 points: the hinge(s) and latch. This bow is minor and only for a few inches. To answer your question... nobody is going to get under the gate and above only matters on the size of the opening (to structure) above the gate. Our gate covers a sliding glass door, only a cat could get thru. Fwiw, the bars that form the scissors are square tube steel which makes them very rigid! They will not bend. This is a good design.

Can it stay closed without a lock?
Yes it can stay close even without a lock but of course anybody can just open. If your concern is for safety, you need to use a lock

This door is a double door, both left and right need to be installed with hinges .

Can a burglar crawl under the triangle? From the photos, it looks like the bottom has a lot of space so a burglar can crawl under one the triagles.
Absolutely Not. But maybe if your burglar is an infant. And that would be tough
