Model B is the training mode. The opening positions of the lids of hole 1 and hole 2 are different. You can use 1 (fully open) at the beginning, and then 2 (half open). After the chickens learn how to use it, you don't need to use it anymore.
Will it be suitable for lightweight bantams I only have 3 bantam hens but need to eliminate a rat problem.
I have another type of automatic feeder which my hens use but bantams were too light even after adjusting the springs at the side they weren’t heavy enough to open it.
